Loaves and Fishes – Lunches Packed

Thanks to everyone who came out early this morning to help pack 400 lunches at the Methodist Church.

It was so great collaborating with another local Church to help others in need!  We finished in record time…1 hour!!  Everyone was so appreciative of our helping hands!

Tomorrow morning is the big day for actually serving the meals at St. Mary’s Cathedral. We originally asked for helpers to meet at St. John’s by 10:30am, but today we were told we need to be at St. Mary’s by 10:30am, so that will push our meeting time back to 10am in order to get to Trenton on time ready to serve!  Please be prompt.

Please wear comfortable shoes since we will be doing a lot of walking back and forth!  Thanks so much for making a difference in the lives of others!

We’ll see some of you tomorrow…but Happy New Year to all!!  Looking forward to our first meeting of 2012 on January 8th!

Volunteers Needed – Loaves and Fishes at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Trenton

We hope you had a wonderful Christmas.  This is just a reminder that our winter service project, Loaves and Fishes, is a 2-day event…a couple hours each day… and is coming up this week!  We will be packing 400 lunches for the homeless people one day and serving them the next.  Some of you signed up to help at our last meeting on December 11th, which you may have forgotten about!  So here’s the info you need:

December 30, 2011  – Packing of 400 lunches

Location: United Methodist Church, Church Street, Allentown, NJ (Big white church next to La Piazza)

Arrival: 8:30-8:45am (please arrive no later than 8:45am)

Pick up: when we’re done packing.  This may take only an hour, but plan on being there until 10:30am to play it safe!

If there is anyone else interested in packing, let us know ASAP.

December 31, 2011 – Serving lunch to the homeless

Location: Cathedral of St. Mary’s, Trenton, NJ
Time: 11am-1pm

We will meet at St. John’s no later than 10:30am and travel together from there.  All IGNITE members MUST have their permission slips/waivers signed in order to participate.

If there is anyone else interested in helping out to serve the lunches, please let us know ASAP.  This is the part that really makes an impact knowing you are making a difference to someone who doesn’t have anything…even a meal to eat.  What better way to show God’s love than helping others?
